If you are looking to organise a Golf Day then Lewes Golf Club welcomes societies and groups from Sunday to Friday throughout the year.

No matter the size of your group we can guarantee you a great day out.

Many golf societies have made Lewes a regular fixture on their calendar and they achieve excellent attendance on their days here. We are particularly popular in the winter months because our course drains so well and is rarely closed.

We have a “mix and match” system so you can create a perfect package to suit your society. However, we recommend that you book early to ensure the date and tee times you prefer.

Photography cannot do justice to our downland course or the superb scenery - so why not come and experience it yourself.

Please phone the Office on 01273 483474 to discuss your requirements and to make a provisional booking. Alternatively please fill out the contact form.

Testimonials

Off to the 16th by JonnyWattUK - May 23

On behalf of my travelling partners Shaun Manning and Andrew Buck, and I’m sure I speak on behalf of everyone else who played yesterday, place on record our thanks for allowing us to visit Lewes GC and play our match.

As I said to you yesterday this was my 2nd visit to the Club the first being in 2009 when I had what I can only describe as being a nightmare of a round when the Triangular was held there. What a difference between the years as yesterday was a much better experience. Both Shaun and Andrew were praising the condition of the course as we came back home having enjoyed their first visit to the Club. The same comments were overhead coming from others both prior to dinner and at the table.

Your smiley and chatty house staff were very nice from the moment we arrived. Everyone on my table at dinner clearly enjoyed their meal judging on the empty plates. Chef did a great job. Great menu choice by you.

I would be grateful if you could pass on these comments to both course and house staff.

In conclusion, as the match organiser, can I reiterate what I said to you on arrival. Your guidance and prompt response to any issue was fully appreciated. Thank you.

Society Review

Lovely staff in bar and pro shop. Good food. Superb course. Not long but one hell of a challenge. They only have four buggies, book early or expect a mountainous round. Phew. We will return, Tony Perrin, West Sussex.

I'd heard murmurs about this course being quite a nice but only recently got round to playing it. It is without doubt one of the best courses in the area. Beautifully kept, undulating greens, testing and varying holes plus breathtaking views especially over the back of the course. Highly recommended +++

Lovely course but extremely challenging. Deep bunkers, unseen pins and every type of lye imaginable. Superb views all around and feels really high up. Staff were extremely pleasant and the cooked breakfast was superb.
A really memorable day and well worthy of a visit. Bring your best game and enjoy ⛳

Table

Understanding Course Difficulty: Course Rating & Slope Rating

These tables provide essential information for golfers of all abilities.

  • Course Rating reflects the difficulty of the course for a scratch golfer (handicap of 0).

  • Slope Rating indicates how difficult the course is for a bogey golfer (handicap of around 18-24) compared to a scratch golfer.

Use these tables to:

  • Choose the right tee box: Different tees offer varying distances, making the course more or less challenging.

  • Estimate your course handicap: This helps adjust your score based on the course's difficulty relative to your handicap.

Happy golfing!
