            The 8th

Pro Tips

The eighth hole at Lewes Golf Club presents a challenging par 4, particularly when facing the prevailing wind. A well-placed tee shot directed towards the left half of the fairway is essential, as this provides an improved line of sight to the green for the subsequent approach. Be mindful of the bunker guarding the front left portion of the green. Upon reaching the green, you'll find yourself at the course's highest point, offering a rewarding panoramic view.

Trig Point

Behind the 8th green is a Trig. Point (the common name for a Triangulation Pillar). These pillars were built by Ordnance Survey for the re-triangulation of Britain which began in 1936 and was finally completed in 1962. This process made the making of accurate maps possible. About 5,500 of the original 6500 built survive. Like an iceberg there is more of the pillar below the surface than above.
