The 4th

Pro Tips
The fourth hole at Lewes Golf Club, a par 3, demands precise distance control, rendering the stated yardage unreliable as it plays significantly longer than it appears. Overhitting the green will result in a treacherous downhill putt. While a bunker protects the right side of the green, finishing short and left is a strategically sound option.

Did You Know?
On the 4th tee turn to look behind you. The hill in the distance is Mount Caburn on the summit of which is an early Iron Age fort. Folklore claims that the hill was formed by a clod of soil thrown by the Devil as he dug Devils Dyke, and that a giant by the name of Gill walked the slopes and enjoyed throwing his hammer from the highest point.
