            The 15th

Pro Tips

The 15th at Lewes Golf Club presents a strategic par 4, defined by a rightward dogleg. To effectively navigate this hole, a tee shot placed on the left half of the fairway is essential, as this opens up the approach to the green. The second shot plays shorter than the measured distance, and golfers should be aware that any ball pitched short will benefit from the terrain, feeding down onto the expansive green which slopes dramatically from right to left.

Offham Chalk Pit

From the 15th green look across to Offham chalk pit. In the 19th century there was a thriving chalk and lime industry here and in order to move the loaded wagons, down to a wharf on Pellbrook Cut near the river Ouse, the oldest railway in the South-East was constructed. It was a funicular tramline and was opened in 1809.
