            The 12th

Pro Tips

This is a beautiful downhill par 3 with a narrow green, the longest of the par-3 holes on the course. Do not miss it left, it will run right down and the surrounding terrain leaves a tricky chip to get close to the hole. The line is just inside the right-hand grass bunker, use the contours to let the ball feed onto the green.

Ashcombe Windmill

Looking out from the back of the 12th green you can see the reconstructed Ashcombe Windmill on Kingston Hill. The original six sweep Post Mill was built in 1828 but was destroyed in a gale in 1906. Luckily some original parts were recovered and there were photographs and drawings so the new windmill looks almost identical to the original. It was completed in 2015 and the private owner hopes to live on site eventually.
